IT’S my third pizza in three days but I’m not complaining about it.

I’m in Tscherms, northern Italy, on a sun-soaked four day visit to the Italian assembly.

Our days have been filled with Italian treats, walks up stunning mountains and, most importantly, catch up with the assembly in South Tyrol.

The assembly there includes apple farmers, patisserie chefs and euphonium players... as well as the newest and cutest member, baby Yasmine.

But despite our apparent differences, we are all brought together by the shared experience of receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Some of us don’t even speak the same language but we make do with garbled German and Italian and enthusiastic gesturing.

One of the highlights was the Sunday communion meeting, singing choruses in German and hearing testimonies of how God has worked in each and every one of our lives.

The Sunday communion meeting

During the meeting, Pastor Nick shared some thoughts from the Bible about the importance of patience.

He pointed out just how patient God has been with us, helping and guiding our paths even when we didn’t know it.

In the talk, he read a scripture that highlights how we need to be patient when we pray as God knows the perfect timing for everything and what we need.

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3.9‬: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It was a fantastic few days to reconnect and we are already planning another trip in just a few months.

Sunshine, pizza and beautiful scenery sound good to you?

Plans are currently being made for a European summer camp in Italy next year - so get thinking! It is likely to be hosted at the end of June or mid July.

After so many years of not being able to travel, we’re ready to host visitors from near and far.
