We spent a beautiful long weekend visiting our church assembly in San Giovanni Valdarno (Florence), Italy — a time filled with warmth, both inside and out.
The sunshine, the fellowship, and the heartfelt connection with our small but vibrant assembly made it unforgettable.
We were grateful to join meetings with Pastor Pino and his lovely family, with Rita and Nino joining us online.
We enjoyed uplifting conversations, delicious food, and the chance to polish up our Italian as we spent time together.
Thursday night’s meeting was full of peace and unity, and Sunday’s communion meeting left us feeling refreshed and spiritually encouraged.
Pastor Pino shared inspiring thoughts that stayed with us long after the meeting ended.
A special highlight was when Susan read a poem in Italian
Here's a little sample:
E continuo a crescere e a risplendere.
Translation...
There was a moment when I felt empty,
a void in my heart that I couldn’t explain.
My father died of cancer.
In my mind, I began searching for an answer.
I went to a meeting at my brother’s house.
They talked about hope and the grace of God.
A few weeks later, I was baptised.
Then I spoke in tongues—it was strange.
But the emptiness inside me…was filled.
The Lord is my strength and my fortress.
I feel blessed every day.
And I continue to grow and shine.
