What’s that challenge you are facing right now?
Is it that stressful job interview? The pain in your back? That argument with a friend? Now what if I told you it was already taken care of?
Sure, at this moment, it might not feel like it... but that’s exactly what God promised us.
Time after time in the Bible, God shows us stories about how He has stepped in to care for his people - and makes the promise He will do the same for us even today.
Just one of these examples is that of Moses, who was asked by God to free the Israelites from years of slavery in Egypt. It was a big ask, and one that Moses didn’t think he would be able to fulfil.
In Exodus, he says as much, asking:
Exodus 3:11 : “Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
God gives him an answer, telling Moses “I will be with you”.
But again, even knowing that, Moses isn’t sure.
Exodus 4:10: “And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”
Moses knows that God is behind him, but still has that doubt creeping in. He’s still human, with all his flaws and doubts.
Sometimes we can feel like this - overwhelmed by the obstacle in front of us and by our own faults. Knowing that we have God on our side can even make us judge ourselves harder, thinking we need to be at a certain point in our lives or that we should be high achievers.
But God has given us the overcomer - the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues - and blesses whatever we have, even if we feel overwhelmed. God takes us just as we are.
John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
