What keeps you going when times are tough?
Is it focusing on your work? Driving a flashy car? Inspirational quotes on Instagram?
In our lives, there are so many “things” that can give us purpose and keep us busy.
But on Sunday, Tom spoke about the living bread we have been given - and just how different that is to what the world has to offer.
John 6:26-27: “Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”
The living bread is our relationship with God - the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
It is something that lasts.
There are so many things in this world that you can work for - but in the end, that will all disappear.
Sometimes I can get so distracted by what is happening in my life.
A drama at work, worries about the future - the list is never ending.
But when I focus on God, and what He has given me, that’s when I’m really energised.
