Who can you be to those around you?
When a friend at work complains of a sore back. Do I offer prayer? Or do I let it slide...
I’ve seen and heard how God works. But my natural mind sometimes still thinks that it’s impossible and I worry what other people will think of me. I know God has the power to heal, comfort and provide. The Bible is full of examples and so too are the stories I hear from people at church.
I’m praying day-by-day for God to help me to take more small steps of faith. To crush my natural thoughts about a situation and give it to God. Even a small amount of faith gives God a foothold in situations.
“So Jesus said to them, “... for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20 NKJV
Little by little I’m growing as I put my faith into action. Sharing God’s love, stopping to appreciate what God has already done in my life and seeing the opportunities for God’s glory. By embracing God and his faith we can be a servant to all.
So I challenge you as I challenge myself to put your faith into action. Remember the things you’ve seen and heard (in scripture and at church). Go out on a limb... take a step of faith. Forget what your mind thinks is impossible. With God all things are possible. See where it takes you this week. Maybe your colleague will thank you for your prayers and be healed.
“Jesus said to him, 'If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes'.”
Mark 9:23 NKJV
